About BharatSecure Scam Intelligence
BharatSecure uses AI and community reports to track scam patterns targeting Indian users. Every scam entry includes red flags, modus operandi, real victim losses where reported, and step-by-step reporting instructions for cybercrime.gov.in, CERT-In, NPCI, and your bank.
How we score scam risk
Each scam in our database is assigned a risk score from 1–10 based on six signals: financial loss potential, frequency in the last 30 days, sophistication of the attack (deepfakes and AI-cloned voices score higher), the breadth of the target audience (mass-market UPI scams vs niche investor fraud), the number of confirmed Indian victim reports, and how recently we have seen new variants. Scams scoring 7 or above are flagged high-risk and surface in our daily trending alerts and WhatsApp broadcast.
What to do if you have been scammed in India
Act within the first 24 hours — that is when chargebacks and account freezes have the highest success rate. (1) Call the National Cyber Crime Helpline 1930 immediately. (2) File a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in with all transaction IDs, screenshots, and the suspect UPI ID or phone number. (3) Notify your bank's fraud team and request a transaction reversal under the RBI limited liability framework. (4) For UPI fraud, raise a dispute on the same app you paid from (PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, BHIM) within 3 days for chargeback eligibility. (5) If a phone number or UPI ID was used, report it to BharatSecure so we can warn other Indians within hours.
